The Annual Festival The Festival is the year’s grand finale. Each year in the spring member companies meet at a host city and spend three days sharing all aspects of the art of dance. Classes are held in ballet, jazz, pointe, character, modern and pas de deux. Seminars are held on theatrical make-up, nutrition, dance injury prevention, musicality, and other dance related subjects taught by professionals in their fields. |

| Performances are held each evening, showcasing the member companies and giving them the chance to show the growth they have achieved throughout the year. An impartial adjudicator, renowned in the field of dance, selects the works. Through the adjudication process, Artistic Directors are given constructive criticism by the adjudicator which is designed to help maintain the high standards of Regional Dance and promote the further growth and development of the companies, directors and dancers. | |
International Ballet Competition
Regional Dance America also participates in the International Ballet Competition held every four years in Jackson, Mississippi by presenting a piece from one of the member companies selected by the Adjudicator for the Jackson performance. |

| RDA National Choreography Intensive July 18 to July 29, 2011 University of North Carolina School of the Arts Each year, Regional Dance America sponsors a National Choreography Intensive. At the intensive, a renowned master choreographer and musicologist guide budding choreographers through a series of choreographic problems and solutions. Participating dancers, in addition to two or three technique classes per day, work with the choreographers on the various projects and perform the studies at an informal workshop performance held each evening. - Every RDA member dancer is welcome to attend. Scholarships are awarded at the audition class held during the annual festival.
